- Free Trial with your own OpenAI API key: the standard trial teaching-content, draft set, and course limits still apply, but the 2-slide and 100000 managed-token restrictions do not apply.
- Free Trial without your own API key and without account credit: you may upload any presentation size, but only the first 2 slides of each teaching content item will be processed, and managed usage is limited to 100000 tracked tokens.
- Free Trial without your own API key but with account credit: the 2-slide and 100000 managed-token restrictions are removed while account credit remains available.
- Paid and Business plans offer a lower monthly fee when you use your own OpenAI API key.
- If you use Lectura-managed API usage, the higher monthly fee includes account credit for managed model usage.
- User-paid account credit is refundable if it has not been used.
- The included credit already reflects the current 5% incentive: Paid adds $21 credit on a $40 plan, and Business adds $210 credit on a $400 plan.

What is the difference between using my own API key and Lectura-managed usage?
Using your own OpenAI API key lowers the subscription fee. Using Lectura-managed usage costs more per month but includes account credit for model usage.
Do new users get a free period?
Yes. New users can activate a free Paid or Business starter period for the first 3 months, while model usage is still paid by the user through their own API key or account credit.
